Safe Place Imagery

Safe Place Imagery is a TF-CBT relaxation skill tool for practitioners helping a child create and rehearse an individualized calming image. It helps the child choose a safe, calm, or positive place, add sensory details, draw or describe it, and practice recalling it during fear, tension, or distress.

Child-Generated Content

The child creates the image or description. The system does not generate the safe place or interpret the child's drawing.

Readiness

If an image does not feel safe, calm, or positive, it is marked not ready so the practitioner can revise or pause the exercise.

Does the system create the safe place for the child?

No. The child generates the safe-place content with practitioner guidance.

Can the child draw instead of write?

Yes, where drawing mode is supported. Verbal description, drawing, or both can be used based on the selected representation mode.

Does the tool interpret artwork?

No. It stores the child-created cue and practitioner observations without interpreting meaning.
