Learn more about this tool

Use this background section to understand when the tool fits, how practitioners use it, and what to consider before sharing it with clients.

What It Represents

The map represents parts or inner states, relationships or conflicts, supported protective/vulnerable indications, practitioner notes, unresolved areas, and update history.

Client Collaboration

The client can participate by naming, correcting, moving, splitting, merging, or revising parts and relationships during collaborative use.

Relevant Limitations

The tool does not diagnose, score, impose a taxonomy, infer hidden dynamics, or generate treatment recommendations.

Does the map start with predefined part categories?

No. Defaults favor a blank, client-led map rather than pre-filled categories.

Can the client edit the map during session?

Yes. In shared in-session mapping mode, the client can help name, move, correct, and revise parts or relationships.

Can I use a list instead of a visual canvas?

Yes. Map view can be visual canvas or structured list, and switching views preserves the same content.

What is saved after the demo?

The tool and selected settings are saved; fictional demo parts and relationships are not saved as real client data.
