Reward Chart / Incentive Program

Reward Chart / Incentive Program is a positive reinforcement planning and monitoring tool for parent-training practitioners. It helps practitioners and families define a specific target behavior, choose a feasible incentive, clarify when the reward is earned, and track behavior frequency and reward delivery over time.

Use this background section to understand when the tool fits, how practitioners use it, and what to consider before sharing it with clients.

Setup Requirements

Tracking cannot begin until the target behavior is specific and observable and an incentive is defined.

What It Tracks

The chart tracks reported behavior occurrence or frequency and whether the agreed reward was delivered as arranged.

When Plans Change

If the target behavior or incentive changes, a revised arrangement state should be created so prior history remains understandable.

Limitations

The tool does not create behavior targets, assign reward values, or produce behavior-change rules beyond the family's positive reinforcement arrangement.

What has to be defined before tracking starts?

An observable target behavior and an incentive must be defined before tracking begins.

Who records home tracking?

The parent or family records behavior occurrence or frequency and whether the agreed reward was delivered.

Can there be more than one target behavior?

Yes, only if the practitioner intentionally creates separate targets. Multiple behaviors should not be mixed into one chart.

Does it recommend rewards?

No. The tool records the incentive chosen with the family; it does not generate reward menus or values.

What is saved after the demo?

The tool and configured arrangement are saved. Fictional tracking entries and sample case data do not carry over as real client data.
