Use this background section to understand when the tool fits, how practitioners use it, and what to consider before sharing it with clients.

When To Use It

Use this for short-term Accumulate Positive Emotions practice when the practitioner wants daily planned-versus-actual tracking.

Repeat Use

Repeated diaries create a longitudinal practice history while keeping each diary period separate.

Relevant Limitation

The diary is not a generic habit tracker, mood diary, or full behavioral activation program, and it does not make clinical outcome claims from ratings.

Can unplanned pleasant events be recorded?

Yes. Planned events that did not happen are preserved, and unplanned pleasant events can be entered as actual activity.

What happens to missed days?

Missed days remain blank and visible in review.

Can the rating scale display change?

Yes, if supported by implementation, the display can change while the rating meanings stay stable.

Are ratings interpreted as mood improvement?

No. Ratings are descriptive and are used to guide future planning, not to infer clinical improvement.
