MIM Engagement Analysis

MIM Engagement Analysis is a practitioner-only focused dyadic interaction analysis for practitioners interpreting observed caregiver-child interaction. It helps the practitioner organize evidence about emotional connection, shared involvement, and the child's openness, avoidance, or responsiveness into a focused engagement-related strengths-and-needs profile.

When It Is Used

Use it when interpreting observed interaction specifically for engagement-related strengths and needs.

What It Captures

The analysis captures practitioner-entered observation evidence, emotional involvement, child openness or avoidance or responsiveness, strengths, gaps, and planning implications.

Important Limitations

The tool does not create a full MIM profile, generate scores, classify emotions, diagnose the dyad, or prescribe interventions.

Is Engagement Analysis the full MIM assessment?

No. It is a focused analysis of the Engagement dimension and does not include the full MIM profile unless other analyses are completed separately.

Does the tool detect emotions automatically?

No. The practitioner records and interprets observations; the system only organizes entered information descriptively.

Can caregivers or children complete this analysis?

No. They participate in the observed interaction, but the analysis is completed by the practitioner.
