Learn more about this tool

Use this background section to understand when the tool fits, how practitioners use it, and what to consider before sharing it with clients.

Practitioner-Only Use

The product is controlled and completed by the practitioner. Client information may inform the formulation, but the tool does not require client completion.

What It Organizes

It organizes symptoms, interpersonal circumstances, relationship patterns or events, selected focus, rationale, and planning implications.

Relevant Limits

The tool does not auto-select a focus, generate clinical meaning from incomplete data, assign diagnosis, or add standardized scoring.

Is Interpersonal Formulation a questionnaire?

No. It is a practitioner-only structured clinical synthesis tool, not a questionnaire or scoring instrument.

Does the system choose the IPT focus?

No. The practitioner records the candidate or selected focus and rationale.

Can a formulation remain provisional?

Yes. Partial and provisional formulation states are supported, with unresolved elements visible.

What is saved from the public demo?

The tool itself is saved. Fictional sample formulation text and temporary demo edits do not become real client data.
