Learn more about this tool

Use this background section to understand when the tool fits, how practitioners use it, and what to consider before sharing it with clients.

When It Is Used

Use it after protective concerns have been sufficiently addressed and a vulnerable part's burdened experience is available in live session.

What It Captures

The record captures readiness conditions, burdened experience, unmet need or wound, client stance, compassion or support, overwhelm or containment, and practitioner readiness state.

Important Limits

The tool does not elicit trauma content, force narrative detail, prescribe witnessing prompts, score distress, or determine readiness automatically.

Does Exile Witnessing ask the client to write a trauma narrative?

No. The tool supports sparse practitioner documentation and should not force painful detail.

Can a session pause before completion?

Yes. Pause, unclear, and partial states are valid and preserved in the record.

Who decides readiness for subsequent healing work?

The practitioner records readiness; the system does not decide it automatically.

What is saved into the account?

The fixed Exile Witnessing tool is saved. Fictional demo content and sample vulnerable part notes are not saved as real client data.
