Behavior Intervention / Support Plan (BIP/BSP)

Behavior Intervention / Support Plan (BIP/BSP) is a practitioner-only support-plan product for practitioners and behavior-support teams. It helps them create a function-linked plan that specifies prevention supports, replacement behavior teaching, reinforcement, response strategies, implementer roles, and progress-monitoring expectations.

Use this background section to understand when the tool fits, how practitioners use it, and what to consider before sharing it with clients.

Practitioner and Implementer Roles

The practitioner creates and controls plan content. Implementers see the relevant executable instructions and may enter monitoring data only if the plan specifies it.

Readiness Review

Completeness checks help identify missing function link, plan components, role clarity, or monitoring expectations before the plan is implementer-ready.

Limits

The tool does not conduct or validate the FBA, automatically select strategies, or infer clinical outcomes.

Does this tool create the FBA?

No. It starts from FBA results and organizes the practitioner-authored behavior support plan.

Can implementers use it?

Yes. Implementers can view assigned actions by role or setting and may record monitoring data if the plan requires it.

Does the system choose interventions?

No. Strategies are supplied by the practitioner; the system shows completeness and alignment cues.

What makes the plan incomplete?

A missing function link, missing before/during/after instructions, or missing progress-monitoring expectations can leave the plan not ready for implementation.
