Token Economy Board for Visible Reinforcement Progress

Token Economy Board is a behavior-support reinforcement tool for ABA practitioners and intervention teams. It helps practitioners define one target behavior, show the learner current progress toward a backup reinforcer, and optionally track response and reinforcement information tied to the contingency.

Use this background section to understand when the tool fits, how practitioners use it, and what to consider before sharing it with clients.

When It Is Used

Use this tool during token-based reinforcement when the learner needs a clear display of earned and remaining tokens and the practitioner needs the contingency visible during use.

What It Tracks

When tracking is enabled, the tool records descriptive reinforcement delivery and response information tied to the target behavior. When tracking is disabled, the board still functions as a visible contingency tool.

Important Limits

The tool does not infer motivation, diagnose behavior, identify behavioral function, or conclude that behavior has strengthened.

Does the learner complete anything?

No. The learner-facing view shows progress, the token goal, remaining tokens, and backup reinforcer; the practitioner controls setup and records.

Can I use it without tracking response data?

Yes. Tracking can be disabled, and the board remains a visible token contingency with earned and remaining tokens.

What happens when the learner reaches the token requirement?

The board indicates that exchange is due or completed, and the practitioner can mark exchange.

Does the tool decide whether the contingency is effective?

No. It shows descriptive token, response, and reinforcement information for practitioner interpretation.
