Interaction Sequence / Pointing Process Map

Interaction Sequence / Pointing Process Map is a practitioner-only FFT mapping tool for family-treatment practitioners. It helps practitioners place observable behaviors in sequence, connect reciprocal actions and reactions, and mark points where in-session redirection or skills work may target the cycle.

Tool guide

Learn more about this tool

Use this background section to understand when the tool fits, how practitioners use it, and what to consider before sharing it with clients.

When It Is Used

Use it when a recurring family interaction is visible but the maintaining sequence needs to be mapped in observable terms.

What It Captures

The tool captures family members, observable behavior steps, reciprocal links, target points, and optional context notes.

Important Limits

The tool does not infer hidden motives, score severity, assign blame, or provide skills scripts.

Can the map be shown as a cycle?

Yes. The supported setting allows linear step order or loop/cycle view while preserving the same sequence meaning.

Does the tool interpret why people behave that way?

No. It maps observable behaviors and practitioner-marked points; relational-function conclusions are outside this tool unless entered separately as notes.

What is saved from the demo?

The tool itself and selected orientation are saved. Fictional sequence content and sample case notes are not saved as real client data by default.
