Learn more about this tool

Use this background section to understand when the tool fits, how practitioners use it, and what to consider before sharing it with clients.

Repeat Use

Repeating the cycle creates a new iteration rather than overwriting prior Goal, Plan, Do, Check, and adjustment content.

Practitioner and Client Roles

The practitioner facilitates and controls the record. The client contributes the plan, participates in the attempt, reflects on what happened, and identifies the next adjustment.

Relevant Limitations

The tool does not add scoring, predefined strategy categories, clinical interpretation, or substantive coaching content beyond the named cycle stages.

Does the cycle have to be completed in one sitting?

No. If interrupted, the cycle resumes at the last incomplete stage.

Can prior cycles be edited away by repeating the process?

No. Repeating the cycle creates a new iteration so prior goal, plan, attempt, check, and adjustment content remains available.

Does the tool judge whether a plan worked?

No. It records the client's check of what happened and the next adjustment; it does not score or interpret plan quality.
