Use this background section to understand when the tool fits, how practitioners use it, and what to consider before sharing it with clients.

When It Is Used

Use it during preparation for family-led planning or lifelong connection work when the network around a child or family needs to be understood from the family’s or child’s perspective.

What It Captures

The map captures people, groups, community links, placements by closeness or support potential, participant-perspective notes, and unresolved leads.

Important Limits

The tool does not decide who is safe, suitable, or required to participate. It organizes relationship information for practitioner-led planning conversations.

Does Circles / Network Circles score relationships?

No. It shows relationship placement, notes, uncertainty, and grouping, but it does not create scores or automated interpretations.

Can a family or child contribute to the map?

Yes. The supported experience allows a family member or child to contribute perspective in a shared mapping session with the practitioner.

What is saved from the demo?

The tool and selected practitioner setup are saved. Fictional sample people, exploratory placements, and demo notes are not saved as real client data.
