Use this background section to understand when the tool fits, how practitioners use it, and what to consider before sharing it with clients.

What It Captures

The worksheet captures an original target, an alternative cognition, conviction in that alternative, review state, and revisit history when used longitudinally.

What It Does Not Do

The tool does not generate alternative thoughts, judge whether a thought is balanced, infer durability, or collect unsupported symptom scores.

Does the tool generate alternative thoughts?

No. The client or practitioner enters the alternative cognition; practitioner review determines clinical usability.

Does conviction have to use a specific scale?

Only if a supported conviction scale is supplied. The product should not define unsupported scale semantics.

Can alternatives be revisited over time?

Yes. Persisted state can include target, alternative cognition, conviction, and revisit history.

What is saved from the public demo?

The worksheet tool and selected setup are saved. Fictional targets, sample alternatives, and demo conviction values are not saved as real client data by default.
