Use this background section to understand when the tool fits, how practitioners use it, and what to consider before sharing it with clients.

When It Is Used

Use it during live ACT sessions when the practitioner wants the client to experience different responses to unwanted private experiences.

What It Captures

The tool captures target struggle, card content, fixed phase completion, debrief reflections, and practitioner observations.

Limits

The tool does not invent scripts, cautions, processing questions, clinical interpretations, or scores.

Can the response stances be changed?

No. Fighting, distraction, and allowing are fixed phases of this exercise.

Is the number of cards a setting?

No. The number of cards is session content generated from the client's material, not a reusable configuration setting.

What if the exercise stops early?

Completed phases are preserved, and the practitioner can debrief what occurred.
